Invoice in another currency
Bill customers in US dollars or any other currency while your books stay in Canadian dollars.
Updated October 26, 2026
Your books are kept in your main currency (usually CAD), but you can invoice in any currency.
- On a new invoice or quote, change Currency, for example to USD. If the customer has a currency set, it's filled in for you.
- Enter the exchange rate in 1 USD = ? CAD. This is the rate used for your books.
- Add lines and approve as usual. The customer sees amounts in their currency.
When the payment arrives, record it in the same currency with that day's rate. Ledgri records any difference between the two rates as an exchange gain or loss, so your bank and receivables stay correct.
Bills from foreign suppliers work the same way.
