Close a period

Lock the books after filing so nothing changes by accident.

Updated October 26, 2026

After you file a sales tax return or finish your year-end, close the period:

  1. Go to Accounting → Close period.
  2. Choose Close everything up to and including a date, for example the last day of the quarter you filed.
  3. Confirm.

Nothing dated on or before that day can be added, changed or voided. If something genuinely needs fixing, an owner can reopen it. Every close and reopen is recorded in the audit trail.
