Set up your business in Ledgri

Create your books, pick your province and financial year, and get the basics right on day one.

Updated October 26, 2026

When you sign up, Ledgri asks for a few details and builds your books from them. It takes about two minutes.

What you're asked for

  1. Business name. This appears on your invoices and quotes. You can add a different legal name later under Settings → Company.
  2. Country and province or territory. Ledgri uses these to load the right sales tax rates (GST, HST, PST or QST) and, if you run payroll, the right tax tables.
  3. Main currency. Usually Canadian dollars. You can still invoice customers in other currencies.
  4. Financial year starts. The month your fiscal year begins. Most small businesses use January.

Click Create my books. Ledgri sets up a chart of accounts and your sales tax codes, so you can send an invoice straight away.

Finish your company details

Open Settings → Company and fill in:

  • your logo (shown on invoices, quotes and emails),
  • your GST/HST number (once you're registered, the CRA requires it on invoices),
  • email, phone and address,
  • an invoice footer, for example how customers can pay you.
